Based on an incredibly popular hotspot for photographers, this painting is my interpretation of the amazingly unique curved Aspen trees located in Ophir, Colorado. One of the best things I learned in art school (that actually stuck with me) was to notice and accurately represent plane shifts in all forms… but somehow these trees gave me their permission to defy that principle. And as usual, I couldn’t resist embellishing the foliage with colors that quench my ongoing thirst for bold.
