After a long absence from my studio due to what can only be described as ‘COVID isolation funk’, I decided to paint something bright and cheerful in hopes of lifting the mood. Inspired by a beautiful photo taken by Justin DeRosa, I combined various painting techniques and strategically plotted warm/cool colors to achieve the blurry, distant background and the crisp, nearer foreground. The title reflects one of the many simple philosophies in life to which I subscribe, coupled with a slight twist in spelling to honor our beloved pollinators.
